IP addressing steps

To set up IP address in a computer, here are steps you need to follow:
1. Go to Start and click on control panel
2. Double click on network connections in the control panel window
3. When the network connections window appears, right click on the correct local Area connection that you want to configure. Then click on properties.
4. Select internet protocol (TCP/IP). Then impute the IP address, Subnet mask, default gateway and DNS servers.
No two computers must have the same IP address in the network. The router represents the default gateway which routes the traffic to the other computers in the network or internet. The DNS server or address helps to translate Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to Internet Protocol address (IP).

Quite unlike Democracy

It is as though we are in a military junter. The present state of the nation reminds me of those horrible days of military regime where there was no single welfare package for the people. Poverty, hunger and suffering reigned supreme. The country is gradually returning to this status with the way things are going now. The middle class is gradually being eroded. What would be left of the society in no time is a class of extremely low(poor) and extremely high(rich).
When Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999, it brought back the middle class that had been missing in the link for a while. Democracy converted many poor Nigerians into average Nigerians. Civil servants, small and medium scale business owners, private sector workers all had the opportunity of owning a house and buying a car. They could afford to pay their bills, observe three square meals a day as well as send their children to decent schools. All these are dying gradually. Today, I have witness the change of fortune of many average Nigerians into the poor class where they can no longer afford to pay their bills.
Many who had decent jobs had lost their jobs. Statistics showed that over 4 million jobs had been lost in the last 8 months. Crime rate is on the increase. Even long forgotten crimes like petty stealing, house burglar, car vandalism e.t.c are gradually rearing their ugly head in the society and are on the increase. Recently, it was in the news that a boy was burnt to death for stealing garri. Can you imagine? This was a clear case of hunger! Quite a pathetic story which led me into a state of sober reflection.
Am still reflecting, don't ask me why, any way, to be continued.................................................................!!!

The act of telecommuting

The world is global village now. Thanks to the advent of the world wide web i.e the internet. The internet has made a lot of impossibilities possible. One of such impossibilities that is now gaining a lot recognition is the act of telecommuting.
Telecommuting is defined as the act of working from home using a computer's connection to a company's main office. So workers both employees and employers need not be physically present at the work place before they get their duties done. Telecommuting is the brain behind this. Many a time the output of employees are affected by heavy traffic situation in the cities where they work. They are usually unable to meet up with the resumption time of the company and this affects their productivity a lot. Many companies have pointed out the act of telecommuting as the only solution to this problem.
Statistics has shown that companies that encourage their staff to telecommute always experience increase in revenue and productivity. They also do better than those that do not. Several companies and businesses are now embracing telecommuting because it has proved to be the only solution to an effective business turn around and it eradicates time lags that is usually experienced by most companies because of employees inability to arrive the work place on time.
Finally, companies who give their employees the opportunity to telecommute have recorded better employee's productivity than those who demand for the employee's presence at all time.

Central Processing Units (CPU)

100MHZ  -   900MHZ Processors: Suitable for Pentium 3 systems. Relatively very slow in its own capacity. Old fashioned and outdated. It is available only in Pin-Like form. The commonest brand of this processor is the Intel.

1.00GHZ     -    2.99GHZ Processors: Most appropriate for Pentium 4 systems. Quite fast on advent but the quest for faster and higher performance processors has been a treat to its very existence. It is available in Pin-Like and Pin-Less forms. AMD and Intel are the most popular brands of this processor. The Intel brand can either be Celeron, atom, Inter R etc.

3.00GHZ     -     3.50GHZ Processors: Popularly called the Dual Core Systems(Pentium D).Fast Processor and suitable for most computing jobs of today. It is available mainly in Pin-Less form. AMD Atholon 64 X2 and Intel are the available brands.

Core 2 Series of Processors: The quest for a high definition processor /Computer with a very good speed that can perform several complex task at the same time without stress led to the invention of the Core 2 series. They are very fast and mark the beginning of modern day computer. They are available mainly in Pin- Less form. The Intel brand is very common.

Core i3, i5, i7 Series of Processors: The advancement in softwares for both Operating Systems and Applications made it mandatory for a super higher Processor/ Computer to be invented. Thus the Core i’s series came into existence to absorb these advancement in Softwares without hitches. They are extremely very fast and they form the nuclei of modern day Computer. They are available mainly in Pin-Less form. They are available as Intel brand.
