Patience, how many people can indeed practice it? You can never attain
success blogging if you are not patient and consistent because, blogging falls into the
category of businesses tagged, 'Do the work and forget the money' Later, the money would come! So,
if you go into blogging with the mindset of getting rich overnight,
then, you are definitely in the wrong business and will be disappointed
in no time.
Many have withdrawn from the race because along the
line they discovered that it isn't as easy as they thought. Whether you
choose to monetize your blog through 3rd party ad networks like adsense,
clicksor, infolinks or sell advert spaces or even affiliate for others,
no one is easy. Or, is it attracting visitors to your blog that comes
easy? To get just a single person online to view your blog posts 'no bi moi moi.' Before
your blog becomes discoverable and popular among the people, a lot of
effort and hard work needs to be done. You must work hard on your
contents to distinguish yourself. Never listen to those who tell you
that when you start a blog, automatically you start earning six figures
and they persuade you to buy their books or training materials on how to
make six figures blogging. Some will even tell you to quit your 9-5 job
and start blogging. Don't try it! Rather, see how you can combine both
then when the blog gets going and can pay your bills then you can quit
your job. Yes, it is possible to earn six figures from blogging but a
lot of effort, hard work, consistency, powerful contents is needed.
Blogging is not a get rich quick scheme. Linda Ikeji blogged
for 4 years without making a dime. How many people can indeed be
patient that long? No other thing could have been driving her other than
passion. The stories of other successful bloggers like Neil Patel
and co are not different from hers. You cannot erase the power passion
from a successful blog. These bloggers had passion for what they did and
that kept them going when the going was tough. Make passion the
driving force of your blog, be consistent, don't be in a hurry to
explode and don't give up. Over time, things would definitely turn
around for you.

The Chinese man wants to work!
The difference between a Chinese man and a Nigerian is that the Chinese man is always ready to work. He doesn't give a damn what people think of him. He is not ashamed to carry out his work in the presence of an admired lady no matter how low profiled the work is. Tell me, how would such a people not progress in the long run? But in Nigeria, everybody is forming levels. Levels that is not taking us anywhere. Everybody living false life. In order to meet up with our false lifestyle, we delve into things we shouldn't. Tell me, for how long can we continue like this?
20 years ago, if they told us that the Chinese would be major players in projects handling in Nigeria, we would have argued. Chinese? No, no, that is impossible! It is happening before our very eyes. The Chinese are everywhere in the country now, running things. No thanks to the poor economic situation and fallen standards of the country.
Government can no longer afford to award projects/contracts to renowned first class companies of the world to handle anymore. Like government, like people. Even Nigerians have no choice too. We are all customers to Chinese products in one way or the other. No matter how we try to resist Chinese products, it just finds its way into our lives somehow because of its strong market presence. Be it in clothes, fashion accessories, shoes, electronics, phones etc, Chinese products are dominating the market. If not for China what would have become of Nigeria and Nigerians? China has really saved us from high cost of living and hardship. So, let us give them kudos. Some Chinese areas of interest in Nigeria are:
1. Oil and Gas
2. Telecommunications
3. Transportation
4. Power (Electricity)
5. Construction

Using mobile phones to detect fake ICT products
Counterfeiting has become a gigantic societal menace that
has become very worrisome to many concerned individuals and organizations. Something has to be done
urgently to save the situation. Nigerians no longer enjoy real value for their
money. It has become so difficult to distinguish between original and fake
products in the market.
Even marketers are not helping matters. They are just
interested in making money whether the customers are satisfied or not, it is
none of their business. They will even proclaim the counterfeit products as
original just to make money.
This is the reason why some ICT companies are going the
extra miles to protect their integrity by introducing anti-counterfeiting
solution which detects the fake of their products on the spot. HP for instance has
introduced mobile authentication service which detects fake HP products at the
point of purchase.
Mobile Authentication gives an instant verification of
original HP inks, cartridges and toners. It simply scans the QR code on the
security label and quickly cross check if it is available on the HP website
database. Non availability of the QR
code indicates that the product is fake.

Curbing the activities of saboteurs in electricity power supply system
Yes, raising megawatts does improve electricity supply but
it does not guarantee uninterrupted power supply to the common man. There are
other activities that hamper the free flow of electricity supply that must be
checkmated if the common man would ever enjoy uninterrupted power supply in
this country.
Government needs to beam its search light on these
activities and address them on time because as little as they are or may sound,
they contribute a great deal in frustrating government effort in providing uninterrupted
power supply to her citizenry.
Take
for instance the activities of generator merchants in
the country whose activities always tend towards hindering the
actualization of darkness-free Nigeria. As far as they are concerned, if
electricity works then
they would be out of business. Therefore, not until these merchants find
an
alternative business that is as lucrative as generator business, they
will ever
remain stumbling blocks to whatever effort government making to save the
country from blackout.
Other businesses that go hand-in-hand with generator
business like diesel and pms dealers, generator repairers, engine oil,
torchlight, candle, lantern sellers are all repulsive to darkness-free Nigeria.
Furthermore, talking about the nefarious activities of the
very PHCN officials or whatever they call themselves now. They go about
tampering with electricity installations such as removing cut-out fuses from
transformers in order to be bribed by local consumers before they can enjoy
electricity supply.
What about the activities of vandals. Unemployment has
turned many of our youths into vandals. They move from places to places
vandalizing electricity installations like transformers, high tension cables,
electrical poles etc. Not until government addresses the issue of unemployment
which would in turn solve the problem vandalism, vandals would continue
sabotage government effort in ensuring uninterrupted power supply to her
citizenry.

Where did we go wrong?
The country is tough for everyone. Nobody is finding it easy
at all. Both individuals, private and public organizations are all feeling the
heat. Scarcity of money, high cost of
living, lack of basic amenities, unemployment, inflation, and nepotism reign everywhere.
Massive retrenchment of workers in both private and public workplaces. MTN
recently sacked 280 workers, Nigeria Breweries, 240 staffs and other companies
are warming up to do likewise. Banks are shutting down branches because of low
patronage. Massive downsizing in many oil and gas companies. Then, where is the hope of the common man? What
does the future holds for us and our children’s children when everybody is
living base on uncertainty? Shifting blame won’t help matters. We all are to
blame for our predicaments.
What is the way forward then? Starting afresh on a clean
slate upon which a new foundation is built. We have taken wrong path for long
and retracing it back is going to be very difficult. In my own opinion, I think
we need to bring back our colonial masters to put us through one more time. It
sounds outrageous but it is true!
The country has been in recession for close to a year now
and authorities say come June, recession would be over. The question now is,
would there be any difference in our lives when recession finally comes to an
end? So many things are fundamentally
wrong with the system that would make recession coming to an end have no
meaningful effects on us. We need to identify the nucleus of our problems and
destroy it, if we must make any meaningful progress in this country. This
nucleus is the genesis of corruption, tribalism, ethnicity, religious
sentiments and what have you. We would continue to perambulate if continue shy
away from this reality. It gladdens my heart whenever I am permitted to share my thoughts, knowledge and experiences with others. Become a WIZIAN today! The consequences of patronizing counterfeit ICT products
The standard of living of Nigerians has fallen so low that we cannot
even recognize substandard products when we see one. Even marketers now
proclaim the counterfeit products as the genuine ones, confusing would
be buyers the more.
The body responsible for the inspection and regulation of all products manufactured or imported into the country i.e the standard organization of Nigeria (SON) is in deep comatose. Since there is no watch dog for standards as far as importation is concerned, the country has become a dumping ground for fake, counterfeit and substandard products.
The ICT industry in the country is evolving very fast, some miscreants are taking advantage of it to deprive populace of quality and genuine ICT products at affordable prices because of their own selfish gains.
Substandard ICT products have a damaging effect on the economy, posing grave dangers to the health, safety of the buyer and constituting environmental hazard.
The impact of counterfeiting on the economy cannot be overemphasized. Manufacturers of authentic products wallow in pains as they lose their market to counterfeit dealers. This hit back at the economy, causing massive unemployment rate, loss of revenue and tax by the government, copyright and trademark infringement, unfair competition e.t.c.
Statistics has shown that over 250 million substandard mobile phones are sold yearly in the country. These phones, because of substandard materials used in their manufacturing can be very injurious to the user. Cases of malware, virus, spyware, trojans are on the increase because of the use of fake phones.
The way forward however is continual sensitization of consumers on the dangers of acquiring substandard ICT devices. Then, right and reliable contacts where authentic ICT products could be bought should be made known to the populace.
