Things that must be done to eradicate black out in Nigeria

Yes, raising megawatts does improve electricity supply but it does not guarantee uninterrupted power supply to the common man. There are other activities that hamper the free flow of electricity supply that must be checkmated if the common man would ever enjoy uninterrupted power supply in this country.
Government needs to beam its search light on these activities and address them on time because as little as they are or may sound, they contribute a great deal in frustrating government effort in providing uninterrupted power supply to her citizenry.
Take for instance the activities of generator merchants in the country whose activities always tend towards hindering the actualization of darkness-free Nigeria. As far as they are concerned, if electricity works then they would be out of business. Therefore, not until these merchants find an alternative business that is as lucrative as generator business, they will ever remain stumbling blocks to whatever effort government making to save the country from blackout.
Other businesses that go hand-in-hand with generator business like diesel and pms dealers, generator repairers, engine oil, torchlight, candle, lantern sellers are all repulsive to darkness-free Nigeria.
Furthermore, talking about the nefarious activities of the very PHCN officials or whatever they call themselves now. They go about tampering with electricity installations such as removing cut-out fuses from transformers in order to be bribed by local consumers before they can enjoy electricity supply.
What about the activities of vandals. Unemployment has turned many of our youths into vandals. They move from places to places vandalizing electricity installations like transformers, high tension cables, electrical poles etc. Not until government addresses the issue of unemployment which would in turn solve the problem vandalism, vandals would continue sabotage government effort in ensuring uninterrupted power supply to her citizenry.

Let the truth be told!

There had been so much talk about diversifying the Nigerian economy since crude oil prices has fallen drastically in the international market. This development has affected the economy and brought untold hardship on the citizenry. One of the ways the present day government is looking at to diversify the economy is through solid mineral exploration. This is why the ministry of solid minerals has been on its toes, working tirelessly to come out with a solid mineral that can serve as replacement for crude oil.
Can this really work? These solid minerals are they really in abundance? Abundant enough to satisfy us as well as as the international market. Remember, crude oil is found in the Niger delta wshich is almost an entire region comprising of Eight states namely Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-ibom, Cross river and Abia states. In these regions, crude oil is found both onshore and offshore.  Thus, it is abundant enough to cater for our energy needs as well as for exportation.
Solid minerals in the country are found in individual states. For instance, coal is found in Enugu, Tin in Jos plateau, Gold in Osun, salt in Nassarawa e.t.c. Non of these solid minerals expanse an entire region or Geo-political zone of the country. Only very few of them are really in abundance to earn foreign exchange.
Previous dispensations were aware of these solid minerals but never thought of exploring them because it would be futile effort. Let the truth be told! The only viable means of diversifying the economy is through agriculture.

Various Topologies for Networking

When designing a network for an organization as a network Engineer, you must put into consideration the various network topologies for your network design to become active. Topology describes the way various devices are connected in the network. These topologies are Bus topology, Token Ring topology and Star topology.
Bus Topology: This topology connects switches, routers, hubs, host e.t.c with a cable in a line in the network. This why it is also called linear topology.

Token Ring Topology: All devices in the network are connected in a ring as shown in the diagram below.

Star Topology:This topology is widely accepted as the standard topology for network designs all over the world. Star topology has centralized switch or hub while other devices such as host computers connect to the switch in the network.

The wrong activities pulling our electricity system down

The government as a matter of urgency need to take a bold step and bring these anomalies to an abrupt end if we must get it right in terms of electricity supply in this country. These anomalies are:

1. Everybody generating their own electricity through the use of generator sets. This is an abnormal situation that has come to stay in the country. Sometimes, I wonder how visitors i.e people coming into the country for the first time look at us. Immediately, they see a society that is not working in addition to under development, no matter what we have to offer them. This is indeed a shame and a very sad situation that we
all need to frown at. No country can witness any meaningful development without steady power supply. What about the noise and air pollution experienced as a result of using generators? This poses serious health hazard to all and sundry. It is very disheartening!

2. Provision of transformers, poles, electric cables, insulators etc by consumers. This is another abnormal situation that has crept into the Nigerian power sector of  today. Customers who want electricity in their communities are expected to provide all of these before they can have light. This is supposed to be the sole responsibility of the electricity agencies in the country be it NEPA, PHCN or EKEDC or what ever they call themselves. It is the in thing but yet, very abnormal.

3. Electricity supply in the country being crippled by weather conditions such as thunder, lightening, storm, rain, or even dryness. Yet another abnormality that ought not be. This is even a thing of pride to the electricity bodies. They give reasons of bad weather conditions as to why there is blackout in the country. In countries with efficient power supply system, no matter the weather conditions, electricity supply remains uninterrupted. I am a witness to this myself.

4. Billing consumers on the platform of estimated billing. They no longer come to read meters anymore. Estimated billing would always be in favor of the electricity body. This is why most consumers are presented with crazy bills. They are billed what they did not consume. Even the prepaid meter of a thing has not been distributed evenly to consumers. Some have while some don't have. Those in charge are huddling it. While some states install this meter for free other states demand for exorbitant sum of money that is beyond the common man outreach. All in the name of corruption.

5. Even the Discos and Telecos run their offices on generators. Can you imagine? Tell me, how would Nigeria power system ever work? If we continue to deal with these situations with leniency. I think government should enact a law preventing all government agencies, organizations, parastatals, institutions etc from running on generators, including Aso Rock! Then, this issue of electricity supply would be taking seriously for once.

The phobia in online business

MMM Nigeria is still alive and exploring a second opportunity in Nigeria, But would people trust them whole heartedly and put in all their monies like they did before?  Would people whose accounts were frozen get their money back? 'Once beaten twice shy', they say! Many people invested millions of naira into MMM because of the confidence and trust they had in the financial scheme. It was a cool means of earning residual or passive income. But MMM Nigeria crashed after all the noise that nothing can ever happen to it.
This brings us to the issue of security of investments online. A lot of people are scared of investing online because most times, online businesses involve dealing with people you barely know and have their contacts. Therefore, the risk involved is quite high because if anything happens, there is nobody to hold responsible.  Yes, the worst risk in life is you not taking a risk. Taking risk can sometimes materialize into immense fortunes and on the other hand it can also boomerang resulting in acute financial disaster. Many have built their business empire around online investments while some are still licking their wounds for badly investing online which made them bankrupt.
Never you be afraid to venture into online investments but know when to draw the line and don’t be greedy about it.
