No kudos to outer appearance of the new model Toyota RAV 4

Though I wouldn’t know what the designer or manufacturer of the new model Toyota RAV 4 had in mind but in my own opinion, this car is like an outcast in the RAV 4 family.

Firstly, it appears smaller than the 2006, 2007, 2008 e.t.c models of the car. Usually, the rule has been, the newer the model the bigger the car. This new model RAV 4 appears more like an SUV rather than a "jeep". Am very sure Nigerians understand what I mean by "Jeep." For non Nigerians, a jeep is the general name for all cars that have similar shape like the old model Toyota RAV 4. It won't be a crime to compare this new model Toyota RAV 4 with Toyota Matrix. They look very similar. What Nigerians call, they resemble!

Secondly, the unique hanging of the spare tyre on the boot door of the car which is a repeated feature in all other models of the car except for this new model which has the spare tyre compartment inside the boot. This gave the car a different look from the RAV 4 we are use to.

Inspite of these external flaws, big ups to the interior and engine capacity of the car. The interior of the car is like see Paris and die.

With the new model RAV 4, Toyota has proved to the world that it has the capacity to take car interior décor and engine design to the next level.

Nigerians are not reaping the dividend of democracy anymore

It is as though we are in a military junter. The present state of the nation reminds me of those horrible days of military regime where there was no single welfare package for the people. Poverty, hunger and suffering reigned supreme. The country is gradually returning to this status with the way things are going now. The middle class is gradually being eroded. What would be left of the society in no time is a class of extremely low(poor) and extremely high(rich).
When Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999, it brought back the middle class that had been missing in the link for a while. Democracy converted many poor Nigerians into average Nigerians. Civil servants, small and medium scale business owners, private sector workers all had the opportunity of owning a house and buying a car. They could afford to pay their bills, observe three square meals a day as well as send their children to decent schools. All these are dying gradually. Today, I have witness the change of fortune of many average Nigerians into the poor class where they can no longer afford to pay their bills.
Many who had decent jobs had lost their jobs. Statistics showed that over 4 million jobs had been lost in the last 8 months. Crime rate is on the increase. Even long forgotten crimes like petty stealing, house burglar, car vandalism e.t.c are gradually rearing their ugly head in the society and are on the increase. Recently, it was in the news that a boy was burnt to death for stealing garri. Can you imagine? This was a clear case of hunger! Quite a pathetic story which led me into a state of sober reflection.
Am still reflecting, don't ask me why, any way, to be continued.................................................................!!!

Why micro telecommunications companies are not thriving in Nigeria

It is quite sad that bigger telecommunications operators who are supposed to be role models for the smaller ones find themselves rendering services that should be left for the smaller telecommunications operators.
Take for instance, a situation whereby a bigger  telecommunications operator well known for selling bandwidth to ISPs is also involved in the sales of megabytes data to subscribers. This should be left solely for the smaller operators who deal mainly on retail telecommunications.
The Government too has failed to help matters. They give foreign  telecommunications operators preference at the expense of the local ones. This has generated a lot of adverse effects on the smaller operators because they are unable to compete favorably with these foreign counterparts.
What do we get? The dreams of these micro  telecommunications operators that one day they will become macro telecommunications operators is jeopardized by government policies. Unable to withstand all of this leads to instability until they are finally liquidated completely.

The widely publicized 4G(LTE) epoch by telecommunications operators would be powered mainly by smartphones

There is already an ongoing strategy to employ the use of smartphones for Long Term Evolution(LTE) broadband penetration as the telecommunications industry in Nigeria continues to expand.
Book makers have predicted that about 75% of Nigerians would be able to access the internet through their phones with super fast broadband speed before the end of the year 2017.
To this effect, smartphones of various brands and techies are already flocking the market at cheap and affordable prices in preparation for this time.
Even MTN has promised to roll out cheap, affordable smartphone to grace this period to see it become a success.
All telecommunications networks in the country are already upgrading their infrastructure to 4G or 5G networks which are the main driving force of this contemporary broadband penetration.

Unequal distribution of electricity in the country

Despite the epileptic supply of electricity in the country, it might interest you to know that some areas still enjoy uninterrupted power supply that you wonder if these areas are still part of the country.About two-third areas of country suffer abject blackout with no hope of ever getting constant supply of electricity.

To mention but a few of these New york like areas are New Bussa in Niger state. Osogbo in Osun state, Agbara in Ogun state, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi state Ijede in Lagos state, Aluu in Rivers state while areas like Ibadan, Ekiti, Aba, Choba, Warri, Surulere, Badagry and many more are in darkness. Infact the list is endless.

The irony of it all is that some of these areas in darkness are directly opposite or adjacent these areas with steady supply of electricity that you wonder again what is preventing the light from getting to them. Take for instance, Aluu and Choba towns in Rivers state are  directly opposite each other. Aluu enjoys steady electricity while Choba is in complete darkness. Similarly, Agbara and Badagry are adjacent each other but Agbara enjoys uninterrupted power supply while Badagry is in total blackout.

One peculair characteristic of these New york like areas is the presence of one electricity installation or the other to their advantage.

Osogbo for instance habors the GRID system. The GRID is a major power installation that connects all major generating stations and the load center. Osogbo enjoys steady supply of electricity as a result of this.

 Similarly, Kainji dam is situated in New Bussa. Kainji dam is the nation’s number one hydro-elecric generating station. New Bussa is the only town in Nigeria that enjoys electricity almost round the clock, courtesy Kainji dam.

Birnin Kebbi  has one the nation’s largest transimission stations. This stations is used to export power to countries like Niger Republic and others. Kebbi enjoys steady electricity as a result of this transimission station.

Also, Ijede in Ikorodu axis of Lagos state host the famous Egbin thermal station which contributes massively to the electricity requirement of the nation. Ijede enjoys stable electricity due to the presence of Egbin in its vinicity.

Agbara too has an injection station that caters for the industrial power needs of the area. This inturn benefits the Agbara town and environs. Electricity is remarkably stable at Agbara.

The 802.11 wireless network line up

It is the standard that has been created for wireless network to comply with. They are:
802.11B: It has a frequency of 2.4GHz. Officially active as of September 1999. It has up to 11MBps (1, 2, 5.5 11 data rates). It makes use of three clean channels. It is the most popular standard.
802.11G: It also has a frequency of 2.4GHz. Officially active as of 2003. It has backward compatibility with 802.11B. It has up to 54MBps (12 data rates). It also makes use of three clean channels.
802.11A: It has a frequency of 5.8GHz. Officially active as of September 1999. It also has up to 54MBPs data rates. It is not cross compatible with 802.11B/G. It makes use of 12 to 23 clean channels.

Exploring the telecommunications sector to bring the nation out of recession

Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GPD) has continued to rise since the licensing of private telecommunications companies in the country. The contribution of the telecommunications sector to the Nigerian economy cannot be over emphasized and it can still be used to bring the nation out of its current economic recession state. There are still a lot of untapped resources in this sector. If we go back in time, we recall that the sector contributed about 10.5% increase to the economy in 2014 and it rose more in 2015.
In the first quarter of 2015, the nations economy witness about NGN1.5 billion increase as a result of an active telecommunications sector. The telecommunications sector is one of the options being explored by the government to bring the country out of the present  recession.
MTN Nigeria still remains the largest telecoms company with a subscriber base of about 62.3 million resulting in about 43% of the market growth rate.
Globacom remains in the second position with 29.5 million subscribers resulting in about 20% of the market growth rate.
Airtel and Etisalat have 27.5 million and 22.3 million subscribers respectively. This amounts to 19.5% and 16.1% growth rate in the market respectively.
Airtel still remains a major treat to Globacom's footage in the market as it is putting all resources together and working tirelessly to assume the position of the second largest telecommunications company in Nigeria.

Curbing the menace of saboteurs in Nigeria's electricity sector

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo once said, "attempting to solve the problem of power supply in this country is like deepening your hands into potopoto". Meaning, no matter how principled you are, how holy you are, how uncorrupt you are e.t.c, if you involve yourself in electricity matters you must soil your hands. So, it is better to stay clear rather than drag your name into the mud. The cabals holding the sector to ransom are like spirits who work in the invincible. So, no matter what effort is put into electricity in this country, it will never work!
But we cannot continue like this, a mighty hand must put asunder all the Saboteurs in this sector. The ministry of power under the watchful eyes of Babatunde Raji Fashola has done a lot to restore the glory of this sector, yet to no avail. I still cannot imagine that some group of people in this country are totally against an efficient and reliable power supply system. They say steady power supply in the country would affect their businesses. What a flimsy reason and excuse! They do not realize that a stable electricity supply can open doors for better and more profitable businesses. They are holding the entire country to ransom just because of their business. This is unfair and shear laziness. Just because they are scared of losing it all and starting from scratch.
Our neighboring West African countries like Ghana, Togo, Cote de Voire and even Benin Republic all have an efficient and reliable power supply system. So why can't we? These countries do not have as much resources as we do, yet they have been able to harness the little they have, channeling them into real infrastructural development(Power Supply Inclusive). That is what I call being proactive. Recently I learnt that Ghana celebrated 10 years uninterrupted power supply. When will Nigeria celebrate 1 day uninterrupted power supply? It is indeed saddening.
In my own opinion, if in the next 5 years this situation still remains the same, then it is high time we looked in another direction. Importation of power is not a bad idea. It could even be the final solution! Canada imports power from the United States of America(U.S.A) through a device called interconnector. Canadians enjoy uninterrupted power supply courtesy United states. It should however be noted that, it is cheaper at some point to import power rather than investing huge amount of money on personal power supply system project that will end up not working.

How to increase broadband speed in windows Xp

Window XP by default does not give full broadband speed usage to users. It tends to reserve some for itself. To change this status so that you can enjoy full broadband speed anytime, a step by step guide to resolve this case is given below: 

• Go to start menu; Click on the run tab.

• Type gpedit.msc in the space provided then enter. A window opens displaying local computer policy.

• Expand the item administrative templates 

• Expand the item Network

• Hightlight Qos Packet Scheduler

• Double click Limit Reservable Bandwidth

• Check Enabled

• Change Bandwidth limit from 40%, 50% etc to 0%

• Click apply then ok.

• Restart your PC.

      It works immediately.

What you need to know about wireless network

Wireless signals are electromagnetic in nature hence they travel with approximately the speed of light. They can also be referred to as radio frequency waves because they can pass through walls or reflected by metal.

Encryption: Wireless networks can also be secured encryption i.e every data sent across the network are encrypted or scrambled so that whoever is trying to hack the network will get the encrypted or scrambled version all data. Only an authorized person will have the public keys for decrypting the encrypted data.
Intrusion prevention system (IPS): it detects illegal wireless network connection that may want to interfere with the wireless network of the organization. It ensures that only authorized wireless access point are allowed.

How routers communicate

If two laptops want to communicate in a routing environment, they must be on the same subnet. Laptop 1 will send echo (address resolution protocol) across the network which contains recipient's Mac address and IP. Every system on the network will check if it is their own packet (information). If it is their own they will send back an acknowledgement and if it is not their own they will discard it.
The OSI protocol is the best protocol that explains what happens in a network. OSI stands for Open System Interconnection and it usually communicates with system's Mac address.
