Why the new model Toyota RAV 4 was a manufactured flop

Though, I wouldn’t know what the designer or manufacturer of the new model Toyota RAV 4 had in mind but in my own opinion, this car is like an outcast in the RAV 4 family. It looks more like an advanced form of Toyota matrix.

Firstly, it appears smaller than the 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 etc models of the car. Usually, the rule has been, the newer the model the bigger the car. This new model RAV 4 appears more like an SUV rather than a "jeep". Am very sure Nigerians understand what I mean by "Jeep." For non Nigerians, a jeep is the general name for all cars that have similar shape like the old model Toyota RAV 4. It won't be a crime to compare this new model Toyota RAV 4 with Toyota Matrix. They look very similar. What Nigerians call, they resemble!

Secondly, the unique hanging of the spare tyre on the boot door of the car which is a repeated feature in all other models of the car except for this new model which has the spare tyre compartment inside the boot. This gave the car a different look from the RAV 4 we are use to.

Inspite of these external flaws, big ups to the interior and engine capacity of the car. The interior of the car is like see Paris and die.

With the new model RAV 4, Toyota has proved to the world that it has the capacity to take car interior décor and engine design to the next level.

The menance of unguarded exposure of teenagers to ICT devices

No doubt about it, information and communications technology (ICT) has definitely made the world a better place for all. It has made a lot positive impact on the teenagers of today. No wonder this epoch is referred to as the computer age. Anything and everything is tendering towards digital technology. With the aid of the computer, something that could take days to accomplish is achieved in matters of seconds now. The computer has continued to proof its definition right, as a device that makes work easier and faster to accomplish. With more and more great inventions yet to come in this regards, the sky can only be starting point for digital and computerized world.
As it has been rightly confirmed, there is nothing good without a bad side too. Early exposure to ICT is really impacting negatively on teenagers of  today. They are mostly distracted by a lot of ICT devices like ipods, ipads, tablets, blackberry, android phones etc. With these devices, they come in contact with X rated and explicit contents, spend there precious time playing computer games or visiting social media platforms like facebook, twitter, instagram, whatapps e.t.c.
These new age leisure techniques that teenagers of today derive so much pleasure in and engage themselves has completely replaced old time leisure methods like engaging in folk plays & games, folk songs & dances, story telling, rendering voluntary & humanitarians services, joining social clubs like the boys scout, girls guide, red cross, boys brigade e.t.c.
The teenagers of today have succeeded in establishing a great social online presence to the detriment of their academics, religious and moral standards. Unlike before whereby teenagers are encouraged to embrace the world of books and literatures, social media exercises like chatting, posting, twitting etc are now the in thing.
We cannot over rule the fact that youths of today spend more time with the media rather than with their parents or teacher and the challenges are enormous. Only close monitoring of the manner of usage of these ICT devices can actually curb situation.

Why this cheating in electrical supply in Nigeria?

Despite the epileptic electricity situation of the nation, it might interest you to know that some areas still enjoy uninterrupted power supply that you wonder if these areas are still part of the country.About two-third areas of country suffer abject blackout with no hope of ever getting constant supply of electricity.
To mention but a few of these New york like areas are New Bussa in Niger state. Osogbo in Osun state, Agbara in Ogun state, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi state Ijede in Lagos state, Aluu in Rivers state while areas like Ibadan, Ekiti, Aba, Choba, Warri, Surulere, Badagry and many more are in darkness. Infact the list is endless.
The irony of it all is that some of these areas in darkness are directly opposite or adjacent these areas with steady supply of electricity that you wonder again what is preventing the light from getting to them. Take for instance, Aluu and Choba towns in Rivers state are  directly opposite each other. Aluu enjoys steady electricity while Choba is in complete darkness. Similarly, Agbara and Badagry are adjacent each other but Agbara enjoys uninterrupted power supply while Badagry is in total blackout.
One peculair characteristic of these New york like areas is the presence of one electricity installation or the other to their advantage.
Osogbo for instance habors the GRID system. The GRID is a major power installation that connects all major generating stations and the load center. Osogbo enjoys steady supply of electricity as a result of this.
Similarly, Kainji dam is situated in New Bussa. Kainji dam is the nation’s number one hydro-elecric generating station. New Bussa is the only town in Nigeria that enjoys electricity almost round the clock, courtesy Kainji dam.
Birnin Kebbi  has one the nation’s largest transimission stations. This stations is used to export power to countries like Niger Republic and others. Kebbi enjoys steady electricity as a result of this transimission station.
Also, Ijede in Ikorodu axis of Lagos state host the famous Egbin thermal station which contributes massively to the electricity requirement of the nation. Ijede enjoys stable electricity due to the presence of Egbin in its vinicity.
Agbara too has an injection station that caters for the industrial power needs of the area. This inturn benefits the Agbara town and environs. Electricity is remarkably stable at Agbara.

Why computers still stand out

Many devices that perform similar functions like the computer have been developed over the years. The likes of tablets, iphones, smartphones, ipads e.t.c  are competing favorably and threatening to give the computer a run for its money. But, one powerful and unique functionality of the computer that has made it unique, outstanding and unbeatable amongst them is its editing quality. Most of these devices cannot be used to edit documents especially scanned documents. They can only be used to view these documents.  Scanned documents come in various format like pdf, doc, jpeg, png e.t.c
Only computer can edit scanned documents as well as movie, music, video and picture files. Just this single function has made the computer a superior device to all other ICT devices in its category.

Also, computer remains the best device for typing. It gives room for improvement on speed and typing skill of the user. A good number of applications can also be installed in a computer to teach how to become a good typist. The likes of Mavis Beacon and others could be explored. It is only when you can type effectively on a computer that you can regard yourself as a typist. Other ICT devices like phones, tablets, ipad e.t.c though have keypads but cannot be used for effective and voluminous typing.

The computer also accept connections to a wide range of peripheral devices like printers, scanners, embossing machines, cameras, flash disk e.t.c. Communication is established by interfacing these devices with the computer aided by a software application. Other ICT devices can only accept connection to a few peripheral devices.

Lastly, ICT devices like smartphones, tablets, ipads e.t.c can be used for personal use only. While computer satisfies both personal and public usage. Computers can be used in offices, schools, market places, companies e.t.c accommodating a wide of users and handlers.

Basic internet formation

The internet is built around four fundamental services namely: Mail service, Telnet (Telecommunications network), FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and Client/server facility.

Mail service: The introduction of mail service on the internet is one service that made the internet popular. One of the commonest thing that bring people online is checking of mails. Internet mail service has over shadowed the conventional posting of letters which can take days to arrive its destination. With internet mail service, message is sent from one email address to another with arrival at the destination email almost instantly.
2.
Telnet: A short representation for Telecommunications network. It allows one to create a terminal session with a remote computer. Using Telnet, one can login to a remote host computer at the other end of the world. One can access the computer the conventional way whenever a connection is established. However, login details of the remote computer must be made available and this automatically makes one the administrator to the remote computer at that end. Telnet also allows two programs to work hand  in hand by exchanging data over the internet.
3.
FTP: It stands for File Transfer Protocol. It enables transfer of files from one computer to another. FTP makes it possible to transfer file from a  remote host to your computer, transfer files from your computer to a remote host computer or transfer files from one remote host to another. Technically, these three processes are referred to as downloading, uploading and file copying.

Client/server facility: whenever two or more computers want to access the internet at the same time, they can be connected using the client/server system of networking. The server connects directly to the internet and send packets to other computers that are referred to as clients. The computers in this network set up are also able to share network resources like files, printers e.t.c.

7 steps to becoming a successful affiliate marketer

What is Affiliate marketing? Affiliate marketing is simply referring people to check out particular products or services and when they make purchases or patronize the services as a result of your referrals, you earn commissions on the products or services.
Many people are interested in Affiliate promotions but do not know how to go about it. Here are the fundamentals of becoming a seasoned Affiliate marketer.
1. Set up your blog/website and identify with a niche you are very passionate about. Setting up a blog takes nothing because there are several free hosting domains such as blogger, wordpress, joomla, drupal e.t.c to get started with. But to be more professional, purchasing a hosted domain isn't a bad idea.

2. Register with an Affiliate program. There are quite a number of them like Amazon, Ebay, Commission junction, Clickbank, Shareasale, Ejunkie e.t.c are foreign Affiliate programs while Jumia, Konga, Dealdey, Kaymu, Jiji e.t.c are Nigerian Affiliate programs.

3. Select your referral products or services. Mind you, products or services must be related to your blog/website niche in order to get rapid result.

4. Generate affiliate banners or links codes for the products or services and paste it on your blog/website life page.

5. Make reviews of the products or services on your blog/website. Give a concise description of the products or services, advantages of purchasing and using the products or patronizing the services as well as your relationship with the companies or manufacturer. That gives would be buyers the confidence to check out the products or services by clicking on the affiliate banners or links.

6. Continue to promote your reviews of the products or services on social media network platforms like facebook, twitter linkedin e.t.c to attract buyers until you make sales or register patronages

7. You earn commissions whenever sales are made on the products or patronages are registered on the services by referring quality visitors to the products or services through the affiliate banners or links. Commissions are strictly base on purchases or patronages made on the products or services by the visitors.
It is worth noting that success with Affiliate marketing depends on the choice of products or services for referrals and the amount of compensations the companies or manufacturers are willing to pay as commissions. It varies from companies to companies and manufacturers to manufacturers. So always select products or services with high market demands from companies or manufacturers with good Affiliate program track record partnership.

The consequences of mobile phone addiction

Mobile Phone addiction is fast becoming a gigantic societal menace. It accounts for the largest non drug addictions situations encountered in the society today.
Many youths today derive sole companionship from their mobile phones and affirm that with their mobile phones, they can never be bored. Thus, they shy away from physical relationships and contacts with family and friends. They are always engaged in one thing or the other with their mobile phones throughout the day. Chatting, watching videos, listen to music, gaming, surfing social media networks, phone calls, sending sms e.t.c are but a few activities they engage in with their mobile phones which is gradually becoming propensities.
Even though big players in the mobile phone industry deny the fact that mobile phones emits harmful electromagnetic radiations, researches have confirmed that prolonged use of mobile phones poses severe health threat to the user.
Health conditions such as brain tumors, genetic damage, headaches, earaches, blurred vision, sleep disorders e.t.c may arise as a result of prolonged contact with mobile phones. Experts advice that to reduce the risk of mobile phones health hazard, prolonged use of phones either for calls or browsing should be discouraged, sleeping with mobile phones under the pillows or close to any of your body parts should be avoided, placing phones in breast pockets should be prohibited.
These precautionary measures should be adhere to strictly by every phone user because some of the aforementioned health conditions could lead to acute situations such as blindness, cancer, deafness and even instant death in some cases.
The propensity to remain connected to world 24/7, 365 days should be minimized by all and sundry, so that we do not find ourselves in the condition popular referred to as medical one chance.

Tackling the problem of electricity load shedding

The issue of load shedding still poses a big challenge to various electricity companies in the country. It is not a problem peculiar to only the Discos(Distribution companies). Even the Gencos(Generation companies) and Transco(Transmission companies) are still experiencing difficulty finding a way round it.
Load shedding, popularly referred to as 'rationing' is a state whereby all cannot have power supply at the same time. Hence, supply is rationed from areas to areas and locations to locations. The popular "3 days ON 1 day OFF applies in most areas and locations.
Professionally, the act of load shedding is not acceptable and should not be encouraged.  The ideal thing to do whenever there is insufficient supply of power in an area, the technical operations officer in charge of that area would alert a sister injection station to come to its rescue by putting more power into system. This is very possible because all stations are synchronized and  feed from the Grid system.
The Grid is a network connecting major generating stations and the load centre. The Grid allows for spinning reserves to cater for emergency situations in order to avoid load shedding. There cannot be complete breakdown of the entire system, so therefore, the issue of load shedding should not suffice. Load shedding is a quack approach to solving insufficient power supply problem.
In some areas, the issue of load shedding has been attributed to low performance capacity distribution transformers. The electricity requirements of most communities grows geometrically. Therefore, a scheme should be in place for periodical upgrade of transformers in all communities. This would go a long way in curbing load shedding in this areas.

Doing E-business in Nigeria

E-business started in 1994 in the United States of America and the successes recorded by the pioneering company was an eye opener for the world into a new and different dimension to doing business. 3rd party ad programs that rival adsense

Are you tired of being disapproved by Google into the Adsense program? Or you got banned from the Adsense program? Then, here are some good alternatives you could reach out for to monetize your weblog/website.

B4PSADS(www.b4psads.com): A great advertisers/publishers monetization solution program similar to Adsense in its arrangement. Offers users opportunity to earn good passive income provided their weblog/website has lots of good traffic. A negative of this is that B4PSADS has quite a few number of advertisers on its platform and might not be able to display ads related to every niche or countries.
B4PSADS is very keen about policy violations and may suspend any account if traces of invalid activity such as copyright infringement, excessive ad placement, bomb and accidental clicks e.t.c are discovered. There minimum payout check is 50USD.

NUFFNANG(www.nuffnang.com.my): Nuffnang is a popular Malaysian advertisers/publishers monetization solution program. Avails users the opportunity to earn Malaysian currency. Like Adsense, it has all the various earning plans such as CPC(cost per click), PPC(pay per click), CPM(cost per 1000 impressions), PPV(pay per view) e.t.c. One facinating thing about Nuffnang is that it can be signed up for using a facebook account. Unlike the other monetization programs where a link has to be sent to your email box for verification before registration can be completed. It has a dashboard that is user friendly. Also like Adsense, Nuffnang has a chart for monitoring earning trends. A negative of Nuffnang is that it is still an evolving monetization program, as such returns are low because of limited advertisers on the platform. Thus publishers using Nuffnang should not expect to get ads related to their niche or countries.

MEDIA.NET(www.media.net) This is yahoo/bing's  weblog/website monetization program. Media.net remains one of the best alternatives to Adsense because of the numerous advertisers it parades on its platform. However, getting their approval for a weblog/website can be very tough. They have strict policies similar to that of Adsense. weblog/website must be up standard, with lots of good traffic and high quality original contents and a hosted domain before it appeals to Media.net. Good passive income can be earned with this program and their minimum payout check is 100USD.

ADBRITE(www.adbrite.com): It is now referred to as Sitescout. It is one of the oldest program for monetizing a weblog/website. Many publishers are currently reluctant using Adbrite because of the numerous challenges facing the site. However, Adbrite remains a very good Google Adsense alternative to try out.

INFOLINKS(www.infolinks.com): For the best categories of text ads, Infolinks is at your becks and call. Infolinks identifies keywords in a post and convert them to related text ads. Infolinks is very strict about policy violations and would not hestitate to disable any account where traces of invalid activities are discovered. Before signing up for Infolinks, ensure site is a classic with lots of good traffic and high quality unique contents. Otherwise it will not be approved.

CLICKSOR(www.clicksor.com): Clicksor is well known for its contextual ads and good referral program for affiliate promotions. Weblog/website must possess quality traffic to succeed with Clicksor's referral program. Ad placement using Clicksor is usually not advisable. It can result in malware because of low quality ads that available on Clicksor's platform. Unlike Adsense, Media.net, Infolinks e.t.c, Clicksor's approval into their monetization program is stress free. Clicksor is not really keen about policy violations and most at times may not be able display ads relevant to a particular niche or country.

CHITIKA(www.chitika.com): Chitika's approval for weblog/website monetization is easy. No phobia of being dispproved severally like Adsense. Chitika's ads are not quite impressive. So returns are very low when using Chitika to monetize a weblog/website. Therefore publishers thinking of using Chitika to monetize should not expect much.
Native ads such as ayboll, outbrain, taboola, gravity, zergnet e.t.c can also be used to monetize a website/blog effectively

INCONCLUSION: It is worth noting that Google Adsense remains the best weblog/website monetization program because of its widespread and numerous advertisers. Thus, Google is able to display ads relevant to a niche or country. Getting Adsense approval is very tough because of their policies which changes from time to time coupled with their intimidating synergy with webmaster quality guidelines. After getting an approval, making money with Adsense is even tougher. Publishers have to work twice as hard to make anything meaningful from the program.
Many have described Adsense as a silly way to monetize a weblog/website. There are several other better ways of making money from a Weblog/website other than adsense.

No longer careers for drop out

Gone are the days when parents restrict or discourage their children from venturing into certain professions or careers such as playing football, music or even acting. These professions have become one of the greatest money spinners in the world today. They have overtaken the likes of medicine, engineering or even law in terms revenue in flow. Today, you hear that a certain footballer or musician is worth so-so and so million pounds or dollars. Same cannot be said of a doctor, lawyer or even engineer.
In those days when parents catch their children playing football or moving with a musical group, they are in for it. This is changing now. Parents are now re-orientating themselves that the world has changed a great deal and professions they regarded as for drop out in past are now the money spinners and you could combine these professions together with going to school.
Parents even now pay for studio sessions for the children’s song recording. Encouragement you say! Acting, football and musical academy are spring up all over, teaching these acts as well as formal education.

Nigerians are suffering

It is as though we are in a military junter. The present state of the nation reminds me of those horrible days of military regime where there was no single welfare package for the people. Poverty, hunger and suffering reigned supreme. The country is gradually returning to this status with the way things are going now. The middle class is gradually being eroded. What would be left of the society in no time is a class of extremely low(poor) and extremely high(rich).
When Nigeria returned to democracy in 1999, it brought back the middle class that had been missing in the link for a while. Democracy converted many poor Nigerians into average Nigerians. Civil servants, small and medium scale business owners, private sector workers all had the opportunity of owning a house and buying a car. They could afford to pay their bills, observe three square meals a day as well as send their children to decent schools. All these are dying gradually. Today, I have witness the change of fortune of many average Nigerians into the poor class where they can no longer afford to pay their bills.
Many who had decent jobs had lost their jobs. Statistics showed that over 4 million jobs had been lost in the last 8 months. Crime rate is on the increase. Even long forgotten crimes like petty stealing, house burglar, car vandalism e.t.c are gradually rearing their ugly head in the society and are on the increase. Recently, it was in the news that a boy was burnt to death for stealing garri. Can you imagine? This was a clear case of hunger! Quite a pathetic story which led me into a state of sober reflection.
Am still reflecting, don't ask me why, any way, to be continued.................................................................!!!

Prime movers of information & communications technology

The Information technology industry encompasses a broad spectrum of products and services that has made tremendous impact on the human race, thus, making the world a better place. Information technology has aided the development of a wide range of products and services that has revolutionize the world. Many of these products and services have become part and parcel of human existence that we wonder what would have become of the world today, were it not for information technology. The world is a global village today because of information technology. Just as the saying goes, "if you are not informed then you will be deformed". That means, the advent of information technology has averted an impending chronic deformity that the human race would have suffered if the likes of Abacus, Bill gates, Jon Ponstel, Steve Jobs e.t.c had not worked tirelessly to make information technology what it is today. Many human endeavors that would have taken years of rigorous work to achieve can be accomplished within a twinkle of an eye with the help of information technology.
The advent of information technology also presented opportunities for many companies to come into lime light. With these companies having the choice to tap into the various aspects of information technology such as software development, hardware production, telecommunications services, website development, management and coding e.t.c. The beautiful thing about these various aspects of information technology is that they are interwoven. The software needs the hardware to function and vice-versa. Also, the software and the hardware needs to communicate to give rise to products, services or functionality that benefits the end user.
However, taking time out to identify with some these companies that have really really distinguished themselves in their self chosen aspects of information technology. For instance in the software development domain, companies like:
Microsoft
Apple
Oracle
Android from Google
Fire fox e.t.c  have really really distinguish themselves
In Hardware productions, companies like:
Dell
HP
Nokia
Samsung
LG
RIM
Toshiba
Lenovo
Itel
Huawei
Apple e.t.c have made good names for themselves.
Also, in Website development, management and coding, firms like:
Google
Facebook
Yahoo
Twitter
Bing e.t.c have built good reputation for themselves over the years
Likewise in telecomunications services, companies like:
Orange
MTN
Airtel
Etisalat
Areeba e.t.c have  carved out a niche for themselves.
In phone applications, companies like:
Whatapps
instagram etc are doing great

Destruction of telecommunications equipment in Nigeria

According to Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, "Vandalism is the crime of deliberately damaging things, especially public property. Though the dictionary defines Vandalism as a deliberate act, it can also be rightly said that Vandalism can be an in-deliberate act as we would realize in the course of this article.
Vandalism of telecoms installations has become a frequent occurrence in the nation today and this is very disheartening. Vandalism of telecoms infrastructure can be a deliberate or in-deliberate act as the case may be.
Deliberate Vandalism of telecoms equipment is most at times as a result of hoodlum's activities in the area. This is very rampant in the North eastern part of the country where the Boko Haram insurgency thrives. A lot of Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) had been vandalized or more rightly put, destroyed due to terrorist activities in these areas. This has led to unavoidable communications hitches such drop calls, no network coverage e.t.c. in these locations. Telecoms companies wallow in pains as they count their losses whenever their equipment are destroyed by terrorist.
Telecoms operators lose millions of naira to Vandal's activities which affects the quality of service delivery and a lot of money is spent to resuscitate damaged equipment.
About N24,750,000 is expended during the installation of a Base Transceiver Station (BTS) together with its towers, special antennas and two generators to power the station. So whenever a Base Transceiver Station  (BTS) is destroyed, it can be imagined what the telecoms company has lost.
In-deliberate Vandalism on the other hand occurs as a result of construction work around areas where  telecoms installations are present. A very good example is during the construction of roads in areas where fibre optic cables are laid. This can lead to cable cut resulting in telecommunications breakdown.
It is on record that an average of 70 fibre optic cables are cut on  a monthly bases due to construction work across Nigeria.
MTN in particular said due to fibre optic cable cut, it had lost of network signal in about 1000 base station across the country recently.
Therefore telecoms companies are appealing to the general public to be vigilante and report any suspicious activities around telecoms installations.

The risk involved in online investments

MMM Nigeria is back! But would people trust them whole heartedly and put in all their money like they did before?  Would people whose accounts were frozen get their money back? 'Once beaten twice shy' they say! Many people invested millions of naira into MMM because of the confidence and trust they had in the financial scheme. It was a cool means of earning residual income. But MMM Nigeria crashed after all the noise that nothing can ever happen to it.
This brings us to the issue of security of investments online. A lot of people are scared of investing online because most times, online businesses involve dealing with people you barely know and have their contacts. Therefore, the risk involved is quite high because if anything happens, there is nobody to hold responsible.  Yes, the worst risk in life is you not taking a risk. Taking risk can sometimes materialize into immense fortunes and on the other hand it can boomerang resulting in acute financial disaster. Many have built their business empire around online investments while some are still licking their wounds for badly investing online which made them bankrupt.
Never you be afraid to venture into online investments but know when to draw the line and don’t be greedy about it.

The middle class is dying gradually in Nigeria

Agriculture is the only sure means of diversifying Nigeria's economy

There had been so much talk about diversifying the Nigerian economy since crude oil prices has fallen drastically in the international market. This development has affected the economy and brought untold hardship on the citizenry. One of the ways the present day government is looking at to diversify the economy is through solid mineral exploration. This is why the ministry of solid minerals has been on its toes, working tirelessly to come out with a solid mineral that can serve as replacement for crude oil.
Can this really work? These solid minerals are they really in abundance? Abundant enough to satisfy us as well as as the international market. Remember, crude oil is found in the Niger delta wshich is almost an entire region comprising of Eight states namely Ondo, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa-ibom, Cross river and Abia states. In these regions, crude oil is found both onshore and offshore.  Thus, it is abundant enough to cater for our energy needs as well as for exportation.
Solid minerals in the country are found in individual states. For instance, coal is found in Enugu, Tin in Jos plateau, Gold in Osun, salt in Nassarawa e.t.c. Non of these solid minerals expanse an entire region or Geo-political zone of the country. Only very few of them are really in abundance to earn foreign exchange.
Previous dispensations were aware of these solid minerals but never thought of exploring them because it would be futile effort. Let the truth be told! The only viable means of diversifying the economy is through agriculture.
