Essential parts of a computer

Several component work synchronously to make a computer give its desired result. They are:
1.       PROCESSOR: It is otherwise known as central processing unit (CPU). It is the brain of the computer. Processors can either be pined or pinless. Ealier models of processor are P1, P2, P3 and P4 processors, which are mostly pined. Later models are dual core, core 2 and the core i series processors and they are mostly  pinless. The speed of the processor is usually rated in GHz. Common brands of processors are intel, MMX, AMD e.t.c.  Intel has the largest varieties of processors and this include the intel R, intel pentium, intel atom, intel celeron e.t.c.
2.       HARD DISK: it is called HDD for short.  The hard disk has two distinct types. They are integrated device electronics (IDE) and the SATA (Serial advanced technology). The SATA is the commonest hard disk today. It is found in both laptops and desktops. Hard disk come in different capacity like 20GB, 40GB. 80GB, 150GB, 300GB, 500GB 1TB( 1 terabyte), 2TB ( 2 terabyte) e.t.c . It is main or permanent  storage enviroment of the computer. All windows files, computer applications and processed files and directories are stored in the hard disk.
3.       RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY: It is abbreviated as RAM and also has two types. The SIMM bank (Single Inline Memory Module) and the DIMM bank  (Double Inline Memory Module). The SIMM bank popularly called SD RAM can be identified by its two hunches and is found in ealier computers like P1, P2 and P3 computers. It is no longer in vogue. The DIMM bank also referred to as DD RAM has 1 hunch and is found in P4, dual core, core 2 and i series computers. The DD RAM has different models like DDR1, DDR2, DDR3, DDR4 e.t.c. The RAM is volatile in the sense that information stored in the RAM may be lost in times of hardware or power failure.
4.       READ ONLY MEMORY. Popuarly referred to as ROM comes in the form of CD and DVD drives. CD and DVD applications are installed into a computer using the ROM. It sometimes  has a writer embedded into it, so that files, application, music, video can be copy directly into CD or DVD using the ROM drives.
5.       CMOS BATTERY: The CMOS battery is responsible for keeping the computer’s memory active even when switched off. The date and time settings of a computer are kept update with the help of the CMOS battery.
6.   MOTHERBOARD: This is the basic panel of the computer. All ports such as the USB, Serial, Parallel and PS2 ports are embedded into the motherboard. All other component mentioned above are also connected to the motherboard. They work synchrously to make the computer functional. Also, basic electronic component like resistor, diode, capacitors, transistors, I.C, make up the motherboard. They are arranged systematically in accordance with IEEE regulations to make the motherboard active.

Native preparation of foods are more sumptuous

Many dishes when prepared, served or sourced for locally are more palatable than the genetically processed or modernized one.

Take for instance; moi moi prepared with leaves is sweeter and tastier than moi moi prepared with nylon or aluminum cups. Same goes for agidi.

What about palm wine? Palm wine served in calabash cup is sweeter and fresher than palm wine served in glass cup.

Similarly, local fowl or bush meat when prepared is sweeter than the domesticated species.

Also, local rice (ofada) is sweeter and tastier than the polished imported rice.

Likewise, stew prepared in which the tomato source is ground with the grinding stone is sweeter and tastier than stew cooked in which the tomato source is blended with a blender.

Then, pounded yam prepared with mortar and piston is more palatable than pounded yam prepared through any other means.

Major composition of the internet

The internet is built around four fundamental services namely: Mail service, Telnet (Telecommunications network), FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and Client/server facility.

Mail service: The introduction of mail service on the internet is one service that made the internet popular. One of the commonest thing that bring people online is checking of mails. Internet mail service has over shadowed the conventional posting of letters which can take days to arrive its destination. With internet mail service, message is sent from one email address to another with arrival at the destination email almost instantly.
2.
Telnet: A short representation for Telecommunications network. It allows one to create a terminal session with a remote computer. Using Telnet, one can login to a remote host computer at the other end of the world. One can access the computer the conventional way whenever a connection is established. However, login details of the remote computer must be made available and this automatically makes one the administrator to the remote computer at that end. Telnet also allows two programs to work hand  in hand by exchanging data over the internet.
3.
FTP: It stands for File Transfer Protocol. It enables transfer of files from one computer to another. FTP makes it possible to transfer file from a  remote host to your computer, transfer files from your computer to a remote host computer or transfer files from one remote host to another. Technically, these three processes are referred to as downloading, uploading and file copying.

Client/server facility: whenever two or more computers want to access the internet at the same time, they can be connected using the client/server system of networking. The server connects directly to the internet and send packets to other computers that are referred to as clients. The computers in this network set up are also able to share network resources like files, printers e.t.c.

Aba can replace China, if developed

In Nigeria, people prefer to patronize second hand products not only because they are cost effective, but because they are more durable than the new products in the market. The new ones are characterized by low quality; substandard and most times counterfeit while second hands are usually from original manufacturers and thus last longer.
This seems to be a Nigerian problem because in other countries it isn’t so. In other countries, new is new and the second hands are incomparable to new ones. This means that something is fundamentally wrong with our importation system in this country. There is no active watch dog as regards importation. So therefore, importers capitalize on this flock the market with substandard products just to make huge profit; turning the country to a dumping ground for all ground for all matters of product.
Consumers are at the receiving end as they have no choice but to patronize what is available in the market which can sometimes be detrimental to their safety and injurious to their health. This menace has become so bad to the extent that marketers even proclaim the counterfeit products as genuine, hence deceiving unsuspecting buyers.
Why on earth would a brand new generator last for just one year? Why would a new phone have poor audio reception? Or why would a new cloth fade out on first wash? Is it not better if patronize made in Nigeria of these products? At least that would help to develop our economy and create jobs for our teaming unemployed youths. Recently, I over head the vice president saying we don’t have any business with China if we can develop Aba. I think that would be a good initiative after all when given a chance to materialize. Really we don’t have any business with China if we can produce generators that would equally last for one year as those imported from china.
This I think is a totful thoughtful!!
