There are few types of charging problem such as not charging, no charging response and charger not supported.
- Issues of "not charging" shows on a display when a charger is being
plug in. This problem occurs when a required current or voltage is not
enough to boost up and charge the mobile phones battery. One reason for
the occurrence of this problem is a faulty BSI line. A BSI line is a
battery size indicator that tells the charging control circuit the
battery working status. The battery has a BSI output indicator terminal
that is connected to its negative terminal with desired value of
resistor on it.
- Another charging problem issue is the No charging response when a
battery charger is plug-in. A faulty protection circuit section is a
major cause of this. It occurs when there is no voltage delivery to the
charging circuit indicators and controls.
- If the protection circuit breaks down, it will result to "charging
no response" situation. A check of all components for short and open
circuit starting from the fuse, to the coil and diode.
- Charger not supported problem is caused by a faulty BTEMP thermistor
component. BTEMP means battery temperature. It monitors the battery
temperature status during a charging status. If BTEMP thermistor is
faulty it won't allow any charger to proceed to charging stage.
