Where did we go wrong?

The country is tough for everyone. Nobody is finding it easy at all. Both individuals, private and public organizations are all feeling the heat.  Scarcity of money, high cost of living, lack of basic amenities, unemployment, inflation, and nepotism reign everywhere. Massive retrenchment of workers in both private and public workplaces. MTN recently sacked 280 workers, Nigeria Breweries, 240 staffs and other companies are warming up to do likewise. Banks are shutting down branches because of low patronage.  Massive downsizing in many oil and gas companies. Then, where is the hope of the common man? What does the future holds for us and our children’s children when everybody is living base on uncertainty? Shifting blame won’t help matters. We all are to blame for our predicaments.
What is the way forward then? Starting afresh on a clean slate upon which a new foundation is built. We have taken wrong path for long and retracing it back is going to be very difficult. In my own opinion, I think we need to bring back our colonial masters to put us through one more time. It sounds outrageous but it is true!
The country has been in recession for close to a year now and authorities say come June, recession would be over. The question now is, would there be any difference in our lives when recession finally comes to an end?  So many things are fundamentally wrong with the system that would make recession coming to an end have no meaningful effects on us. We need to identify the nucleus of our problems and destroy it, if we must make any meaningful progress in this country. This nucleus is the genesis of corruption, tribalism, ethnicity, religious sentiments and what have you. We would continue to perambulate if continue shy away from this reality.
