Guard against raining season disaster

The raining season is gradually warming up to unwind. Flooding, ill health, thunder and lightning are integral parts of the season. People living in flood prone areas are advised to relocate before it is too late. The numbers of mosquitoes triple during the raining season. So, therefore, it is paramount to guard against the usual mosquito health havoc. This is the time to eradicate all mosquito breeding agents which can be achieved by keeping our surrounds clean, cleaning all drainage and clearing the bushes around us.    Also, it is paramount to guard against thunder and lightning unforeseen destruction. Every home, office, school, business organization should endeavor to install appropriate lightning protection gadget that can withstand thunder strike which can cause damage to vital electrical appliances, result in electrocution and cause network failure that can disrupt smooth flow of business transactions.
This lightning protection gadget acts as a neutralizer which conducts lightning discharges to earth through a safe path to avoid damages, disperses the lightning current into the ground quickly and safely and avoid secondary effect lightning on the environment in the form of high voltages which can cause destruction of electrical appliances.
Although, lightning is a natural occurrence that we have no control over, therefore, precautionary measures can be taken to prevent it from causing severe havoc to lives and properties. Statistics has shown that more than 2000 people die across the world as a result of lightning attack while survivors are badly injured and suffer from a variety of lasting symptoms.
Therefore in order not to fall victim at this season to thunder strike, we must take the installation of this lightning protection gadget in our homes, offices, schools, organizations e.t.c, a priority.

ICT has changed the face of doing business in Nigeria

Before now, doing business in Nigeria required a brick and mortar location whereby the business owner had to always be ground in order not to miss potential customers. There was slow growth in business because businesses could only reach out to limited numbers people within their locality. Becoming a national or international business man was a herculean task and dynamism in business could never be accomplished.
But since telecommunications became firmly anchored in Nigeria, the face of doing business changed. A brick and mortar location is no longer mandatory. In fact, for many people, their mobile phones is their office. Just a phone call had transformed many Nigerians into millionaires. Now, business owners can organize their businesses in such a way that anywhere they find themselves their businesses are with them. Making international connections are very easy now. Many businesses in Nigeria now have foreign partnership which is very good for the rapid growth of the business.
ICT has also opened up opportunities for Nigerians to venture into online businesses. Quite a number of Nigerians now earn decent income from online shopping malls, facebook, blogging, survey, freelancer, whatapps, email marketing, SEO, copy writing etc. Many Nigerians are using online means to grow their offline businesses through promoting their products and services online with the aid of online web banners.

What if oil dries up in Nigeria?

Just as water in a well can dry up with time, also oil wells in the country can dry up. Nobody ever believed that one day prices of crude oil would crash drastically to the extent of plunging the country’s economy into recession.
Now we are in recession, what if crude oil dries up? Then we would enter starvation. It is better to start planning ahead rather than wait for it to happen before taken necessary action. Changes in weather conditions can affect anything on planet earth. Oil wells are no exceptions. Recall how changes in weather conditions brought about an earthquake under the ocean called tsunami, so also it can cause oil wells to dry up.
Although, nobody prays for oil wells in the country to dry up. However, a word is enough for the wise. Let us start now to plan for the unknown before it catches up with us. Moreover, this economic recession has really thought us a lesson never to depend on crude oil only. More so why the government of the day is doing everything humanly possible to diversify the economy by focusing on other areas that can equally yield foreign exchange for the country. Some areas that the government is beaming its searchlight are Agriculture and solid mineral exploration.
Nigeria is regarded as an agrarian nation. But we abandoned agriculture for oil. Now, we are forced to go back to it. The fadama rice farming project has commenced, groundnut pyramids are coming back, livestock, fish farming and  animal husbandries are spring up in every nook and cranny of the country.
Nigeria is blessed with so many solid minerals. In fact, solid minerals are scattered across the six geopolitical zones of the country. Coal can be found in Enugu, iron ore in Nassarawa, Gold in Osun, tin in Jos plateau, salt in Nassarawa, limestone in Nkalagwu etc.

Given the physically impaired a sense of belonging in ICT

It is very pathetic that most ICT and telecommunications companies operating in the country never take cognizance notice and consideration for the physically impaired citizens when rolling out products and services. Yet these people form a sector of the total population of the country.
Physically challenged citizens such as the blind, lame and crippled yearn for recognition from these companies and also want to partake in whatever products and services their able counterparts are benefiting from these companies.
Any ICT or telecoms company that eventually put these physically impaired ones into it agenda and program when rolling out products and services would definitely experience an increase in its subscriber base. This could even catapult them to a position enviable by all.
Recollect the tussle between Globacom Nigeria and Airtel Nigeria for supremacy and who deserves to be second leading telecoms company in Nigeria? If Airtel could roll out innovative products and services that suits the physically challenged citizens, it might end up surpassing Globacom to become the second leading telecoms company in the country. Similarly, on the other hand, if Globacom could also do likewise, then it would also help to keep Airtel at bay.
The financial institution are also not left out. Nothing wrong if a bank could position its ATMs in such a way that a person on wheel chair could use the ATM to carry out transactions. Braille facility can also be incorporated into the ATMs so that the blind and visually impaired can use the ATMs.

Google adsense sucks!

Displaying Google ads on a site or blog is not a sure deal to riches. So, why is Google so strict with approving sites or blogs into the Adsense program? As if an approval would make them instant millionaire. Not at all! Enough work still has to be done to make sense out of Adsense. For sure you must be on top of your game to make anything meaniful out of Adsense.  Even those sites or blogs already accommodated into the Google ad network are being guided by stringent policies that could sometimes be violated unknowingly. To get Adsense approval is tough but to make money with Adsense is even tougher. Even after approving your site or blog, they continue to display blank ads for close to two months. All in the bead to frustrate you. Therefore, what is the essence of being so severe with alleged violators of Adsense policies to the extent of disabling their account without warning, not even a suspension is given for start. Just outright blocking! To add salt to injury, when blocked, no concrete reason is given of your offense. That's is not fair and infact an abuse of fundamental human right! Punishing somebody without telling him his offense. Sometimes, site or blog owners are completely innocent of the offense.
The greatest frustration of all is that Adsense is once in a life time participation. Thus, when you lose it, you cannot get it anymore i.e when ban, it is for life. Not even an appeal can remedy the situation.
Being ban from the Adsense program is not the end of the world. Never let Google's frustration deprive you of what you intend to achieve with your site or blog. Stay focused and continue to thrive your site or blog. Many have grown their site or blog to success without Adsense. You too can.So, remain focused!

Chinese areas of interest in Nigeria

20 years ago, if they told us that the Chinese would be major players in projects handling in Nigeria, we would have argued. Chinese? No, no, that can't happen! It is happening before our very eyes. The Chinese are everywhere in the country now, running things. No thanks to the poor economic situation and fallen standards of the country.
Government can no longer afford to award projects/contracts to renowned first class companies of the world to handle anymore. Like government, like people. Even Nigerians have no choice too. We are all customers to Chinese products in one way or the other. No matter how we try to resist Chinese products, it just finds its way into our lives somehow because of its strong market presence. Be it in clothes, fashion accessories, shoes, electronics, phones etc, Chinese products are dominating the market. If not for China what would have become of Nigeria and Nigerians? China has really saved us from high cost of living and hardship. So, let us give them kudos. Some Chinese areas of interest in Nigeria are:
1. Oil and Gas

2. Telecommunications

3. Transportation

4. Power (Electricity)

5. Construction
