The 802.11 wireless network line up

It is the standard that has been created for wireless network to comply with. They are:
802.11B: It has a frequency of 2.4GHz. Officially active as of September 1999. It has up to 11MBps (1, 2, 5.5 11 data rates). It makes use of three clean channels. It is the most popular standard.
802.11G: It also has a frequency of 2.4GHz. Officially active as of 2003. It has backward compatibility with 802.11B. It has up to 54MBps (12 data rates). It also makes use of three clean channels.
802.11A: It has a frequency of 5.8GHz. Officially active as of September 1999. It also has up to 54MBPs data rates. It is not cross compatible with 802.11B/G. It makes use of 12 to 23 clean channels.
