"To be fore warned is to be fore harmed," they say! During the 7-day ultimatum given by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to deactivate all pre-registered SIM cards, the major telecoms operators in the country like MTN, Globacom, Etisalat began sending SMS to affected subscriber warning them about the move to bar their lines if they fail to register it.
On the other hand, G.S.M operator Airtel Nigeria, blocked all its affected subscribers without any prior notice. This means they do not care about the feelings of their subscribers and whatever affects their subscribers is immaterial to them. This doesn't speak well of them!
I personally use my Airtel line for business. When my line was barred, my business came to a holt. It took me two days to unbar it. Definitely I wasn't happy. And this is the plight of many other subscribers. Many have vowed to stop using Airtel network because of this insensitive act. Not being sensitive to the well being of customers can make a company lose a large chunk of it customers base.
Airtel needs to apologize to all its affected subscribers before it loses them all. Little things we take for granted can make or mar us!
