MTN, this was not our expectations

When the news went viral that telecommunications giant MTN had finally acquired Visafone Communications Nigeria Ltd, our expectations were high as we hoped to see a new, improved and better Visafone Communications Ltd at work. Little did we know that it was the beginning of worst service delivery to subscribers.
Subscribers wallow in pains as they continually experience irregularities and service disruptions which include network failure for weeks, inability to recharge and subscribe, network fluctuations leading to slow internet connection, dropcalls, congestion, and inability to check balance or status. A very funny one happening now is that whenever you subscribe, you get a message notifying you that you have subscribe for  a particular data plan which is to last for a month. But when you check your data status the subscription doesn't reflect. Your data still reads 0KB and back dated to expire. Very very funny! Even calling their call centers has been abortive and all the mini Visafone offices attached to Zenith bank are under lock and key
Business owners using Visafone network are the most hit by these irregularities as they count their losses. Yet, such things are happening in this country and nobody is saying anything. No body is filing a law suit against MTN for cheating their subscribes and they continue to smile to the bank at the expense of their subscribers. Subscribers are bearing the entire brunt. This can never happen in any advance country. There licenses would either be revoked or they will be forced to pay compensations to affected subscribers. Not even a bear with us message has been sent by MTN to her subscribers. This implies that they are not bother about whatever inconveniences they put their subscribers. It is still very fresh in memory how MTN stressed Nigerians during the unregistered SIM card deactivation exercise. See article:MTN has really stressed Nigerians
The role of bad leadership in all of these cannot be over emphasize. When a government don't care about her people then anybody from anywhere can inflict pain and hardship on them and go scout free.
To hit the nail on the head, MTN is just concerned about business expansion and not bothered about the welfare and quality of service to subscribers. Even the major MTN network has been a nightmare to many. In coming calls are characterized by signal drop which leads to line breaking. Consequently resulting to severe audio interference messing up the entire phoning process.
Definitely, we cannot continue like this. Nigerians cannot continue to play the fool, bearing the brunt while they smile to the bank.
Something drastic must be done to put a stop to all this mess.
