30% Broadband Penetration come 2018. Is it Possible?

The Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) in a press release stated its expectations for broadband connectivity by the year 2018. It says 30% of Nigerians would have access to the internet come 2018.
Telecommunications operators in the country are however optimistic that this goal set by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) is achievable considering the steady growth rate recorded in the sector monthly.
For instance, in the month of June, Etisalat Nigeria had 15,288,077 users on its data network but added 112,783 subscribers to its network in July.
Similarly, Airtel Nigeria added 7226 subscribers to its data network growing its internet subscribe base from 17,598,626 in June to 17,605,852 in July.
Also MTN internet users rose from 40,489,675 in June to 41,101,898 subscribers in July
Globacom was able to retain the same number of users using its data network from June to July.
The surviving Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) operators in the country, Visafone and Multilinks also recorded a fairly good growth rate. Visafone internet users appreciated by 32,980 users which amounted to 148,461 in July compared with 115,481 subscribers that was recorded in June.
Multi-Links which appears to be the weakest of them all added 38 users to finish up with 203 subscribers in July.
Looking critically at these growth trends, it very is glaring that come 2018, Nigerians connected to the internet would hit 30% of the population targeted by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC).
